Every project starts with the number it should move.

I work on four moments in a product’s life. Most of my attention goes to the third one.

heart rate goes up here, for users and for finance teams

  1. 01

    Activate

Getting new people to their first real win before they lose interest.

    Activation rate, time to value

  2. 02

    Convert

Signup, checkout, and payment flows people trust enough to finish.

    Conversion, drop-off

  3. 03

    Monetize

Paywalls and upgrade moments that show up when value is felt, not before.

    Upgrade rate, ARPU

  4. 04

    Retain

Habit loops, streaks, and nudges timed to how people actually behave.

    Retention, churn

Tidewallet: a crypto wallet that explains itself

People lose money in Web3 through confusing moments, not hacks. AI checks an address before you send and explains every fee before you swap. The paid tier only appears after the free checks have saved you from something.

Paylark: getting paid in dollars, without the guesswork

For freelancers paid by clients abroad. One voice note becomes an invoice, AI times reminders to each client’s payment habits, and the paid instant payout sits honestly next to a free option that works fine.

Acany: understanding your heart, one reading at a time

A blood pressure companion that explains every reading in plain language, spots patterns across the week, and earns money at the moment readings matter most: the next doctor’s visit.

How I think

  • A paywall on the first screen asks people to pay for a promise. A paywall after their first win asks them to keep something they already have. Those are very different requests.

  • Every project starts with one metric to move and one I refuse to hurt. If I can’t say which, I’m not ready to design yet.

  • Physiology taught me that attention runs out and willpower dips by evening. Your users meet your product at their least patient, so the right choice has to be the easy one.

How I use AI

Two ways: as a material I design with, and as a partner that makes me faster. In both, the rule is the same. AI drafts, a person decides.

In the products I design

  1. 1
Explain before actingAI says what’s about to happen and why. It never sends, signs, or pays on its own.
  2. 2
One look for AIEvery AI suggestion wears the same marker, so people always know what came from a model.
  3. 3
Earn trust, then chargeAI features prove themselves for free first. The paid tier comes after people have felt them work.
  4. 4
Know the limitsIn health, AI gives context and next steps, never a diagnosis. Anything urgent goes to a person.

In how I work

  1. 1
Thinking partnerI pressure-test positioning, hypotheses, and copy with AI before anyone else sees them.
  2. 2
Faster explorationI drive Figma with AI to try several directions quickly, then refine the chosen one by hand.
  3. 3
Design to codeI build working prototypes with AI, so interactions are tested in a browser, not imagined.

What I’ve built with it

From physiology to paywalls.

I’m Simeon, a product designer in Enugu, Nigeria, working remotely across UK and EU hours. Before product design I studied how bodies work. I still use that, along with a musician’s ear for timing.

Musicians feel tempo. Good products have one too. Tap a beat and set mine.
